How to use your "refresher" bars

Congrats on being a DIYer! LOL.  If you are just looking to rejuvenate your beeswax wrap, you'll need the same materials (minus the "refresher" bars) and can follow these instructions (skip steps 4-5).

Here's what you'll need:

  • "Refresher" Bars
  • Beeswax wrap/Material
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper/Foil
  • Heat Proof Container/pot--make sure this is a dedicated container or disposable
  • 2" Paint Brush (or bigger)--this paint brush needs to also be dedicated to your wraps or disposable
  • Oven and stove/microwave

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees F.

2. Line your baking pan with parchment paper or foil (I recommend parchment paper but either is fine)

3. Lay your wrap or piece of material on the lined pan--place the pan in the oven to heat.

4. Put your "refresher" bar in your pot or heat proof container and melt the bars. If you're using a microwave, heat the bars up 30 seconds at a time until melted. ***Keep a close eye on this because beeswax is flammable.

5. Once your bars are melted, take the pan out of the oven, using the paint brush, spread the mixture over your wrap/material. It's ok if the mixture is not spread evenly--it'll probably start solidifying as you're painting it on.

6. Place the pan back into your heated oven for 2-3 minutes (keep an eye on it as it may be faster or slower, depending on the evenness of your oven).  You want to make sure all of the mixture you just applied to the material is melted when you pull it out of the oven.

7.Pull pan out of the oven and use your paintbrush to redistribute the mixture evenly over the wrap.

7. Once the wrap is cool enough to touch, remove from the pan and your wrap will be ready to use =)
